A Look into HyperLoot's Progress and the Next Chapter

Feb 9, 2023

gm hyperfam.

We are thrilled to bring you an update on the progress of the HyperLoot ecosystem. This marks the beginning of our official update series and we are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and firm belief in our vision.

In this first update, we'll be sharing the progress we've made and providing insights into our plans for the future. We believe that through transparency and regular communication, we can strengthen our core values and build a thriving NFT ecosystem that aligns with the larger HyperLoot vision.

So, let's jump in and discover all the exciting updates we have in store for you. From the HyperLoot 3D to the upcoming HyperLoot: CC0 Wars game, there's plenty to explore and learn about.

HyperLoot 3D

HyperLoot 3D has now been fully developed and is ready for release. Throughout the development process, we rigorously tested the 3D on various platforms and environments to ensure that it works seamlessly in a variety of scenarios. It has been a significant challenge to bring the HyperLoot 3D to life, as it was designed to not only be rendered as static images, such as PFP (profile picture) or gallery displays, but to also come equipped with its own rigging system, making it fully interactive in digital products such as games, metaverses, and animations.

Previously on Discord we mentioned that the HyperLoot 3D would be launched alongside the SDK. However, due to current market conditions, we have decided to defer the launch of the SDK and releasing just the HyperLoot 3D first. The distribution of the 3D HyperLoots will be taking place in the coming weeks. NFT holders will receive the 3D version of their HyperLoots without any additional costs or gas fees. Simply sit back and relax while we take care of everything.

It is worth noting that the HyperLoot 3D will not be a new NFT or collection. Instead, current NFT holders will simply be able to upgrade their existing NFTs from 2D to 3D. This decision was made to avoid diluting the value of the NFTs, as both 2D and 3D HyperLoot are essentially the same; the only difference being their visual form.

SDK

After speaking with individuals in the NFT space and evaluating market conditions, we have made the decision to defer the launch of the SDK for the time being. Interest in utilizing the SDK is currently low, however, we have partners who are already utilizing and integrating HyperLoot character assets in a more straightforward manner. We will continue to monitor demand and will reassess the launch of the SDK once it becomes a more pressing need.

Full disclosure: our priority is to build a sustainable and profitable decentralized media business, and after conducting market research and speaking with potential users of the SDK, it has become clear that the SDK may not be the most effective revenue-generating strategy in the short-term. As such, we have decided to focus our efforts on other initiatives for now.

Please note that this decision is subject to change based on market conditions and the demand for the SDK. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and re-evaluate the launch of the SDK in the future. We are ready and willing to pivot at any time.

Merch

Merch for HyperLoot will be launched shortly after the release of the HyperLoot: CC0 Wars game. Our priority is to focus on delivering a high-quality gaming experience first, before branching out into merchandise.

Drawing inspiration and approach from companies like Disney, we believe that it is important to launch merchandise after the release of the product. As an example, consider the launch of the Disney film, "Frozen". The merchandise, including Princess Elsa's costume, was not made available for purchase until after the film's release. This approach was taken because the filmmakers wanted to create a connection between the movie and the merchandise; they wanted children to learn about the film and become bonded with the characters before they purchased merchandise.

Similarly, we want to create a meaningful connection between HyperLoot: CC0 Wars and our merchandise. By waiting until the game has been released and players have had a chance to experience the characters and items their HyperLoots are equipped with, we believe that the merchandise will have greater significance and appeal.

We believe that this approach sets us apart from other NFT projects, as our merchandise strategy is centered around delivering a complete and compelling gaming experience, rather than jumping into the merchandise market prematurely. In addition, as our game is geared towards a broader audience beyond the crypto community, it is important that the merchandise appeals to individuals who are not familiar with HyperLoot NFT or who are not the holders themselves.

HyperLoot: CC0 Wars

Today, we are excited to finally reveal information about our upcoming game, HyperLoot: CC0 Wars, to the public. Until now, we have only teased glimpses of the game through our social media channels, but we are thrilled to finally reveal more information about the exciting game.

The reason we have held off on discussing the game until now is because we have gone through a thorough process of trial and error in the design phase. The game development process is an iterative one, and as legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto once said, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

Creator behind Mario and Zelda

At HyperLoot, we have followed this philosophy and have taken the time to thoroughly test and refine our game. From paper prototypes to digital-based prototypes of different types of games, we have experimented with various designs to bring you the best possible gaming experience. Through this process, we have honed in on the ideal design and gameplay that we believe will not only be both engaging and enjoyable for our players, but also leverages the full power of CC0.

Additionally, HyperLoot: CC0 Wars ecosystem is crafted with an aim to accommodate players and holders of all types, including those who may not have the time or who are not gamers themselves. We are building the game with the HyperLoot NFT as the foundation of the ecosystem in a manner that adds value and interest for the original HyperLoot NFT. As we continue to refine and improve the game through trial and error, we're excited to show what we've been working on to you.

Concept Art

As we continued to refine the game design and brainstorm ideas, our team created numerous sketches and concept art pieces to bring our game to life. These pieces help us not only visualize the look of the game, but also establish the mood and tone for the production/development.
